Waxing and Sugaring

Before Hair Removal

Update me on any changes to medications or skincare products.  To keep you safe, we need know what you’re using!

You should have 3 weeks of growth.  Hair should be about as long as a sprinkle or grain of rice.

Stop exfoliating for a few days before your appointment.  This may cause skin lifting.

Shower and moisturize before your appointment.

Exercise before your appointment, not after.

Wear loose clothing.  You may want to bring a fresh change of clothes if your appointment is later in the day, as newly waxed skin is open to the air and susceptible to irritation/infection.

After Hair Removal

Avoid applying heat to the waxed or sugared area for 12-24 hours.  This includes exercise, hot baths/showers, saunas and steam.

To avoid infection, avoid swimming pools, scratching or touching the waxed area.

Sun care:  Avoid the sun for 24 hours, including tanning beds.  Avoid sunblocks for 12-24 hours after the waxing service as sunscreen chemicals can be irritating to newly waxed skin.

Avoid highly fragranced products to the waxed areas.

After a 3-5 days, start exfoliating 3-4 times a week and moisturize daily to avoid ingrown hairs and rashes.

Any pinking of the skin or histamine reactions (red bumps) should disappear within 6-8 hours of the waxing treatment.  Hydrocortisone cream may be used for irritation.

For Brazilian and bikini services, avoid sex for 24-48 hours.
